Is your life packed full of long work hours, kids activities, house cleaning, and yard maintenance? If so, you might think finding time to go to the gym is just one more thing to add to your already overcrowded to-do list. Or maybe gyms aren’t for you or perhaps you see the value of gyms, but you just can’t afford the membership fees.
No matter, there are plenty of ways to fit exercise into your day.
Use your lunch hour for some power walking. Not only is walking good physical exercise, it makes for a nice mental break too.
Clean your house vigorously and more often and think about your movements when you’re cleaning. Make a point of stretching a little further, scrubbing a little harder, and walking back and forth more often.
Work in your garden. It’s a good way to breathe in the fresh air as well as get fit.
When you watch TV, don’t just sit there. Get a resistance band and work your upper and lower body while watching your favorite show. Do some abdominal crunches too.
Part of getting fit also involves eating right. Make a conscious decision to reach for the whole foods instead of refined sugary foods. This will prevent those afternoon and evening slumps. If you’re not tired, you’re likely to be more active.
These are just some ways that you can incorporate exercise into your daily routine. Pick the activities that interest you and get moving.
